The Ultimutt bath includes a bath with a shampoo that is best suited for their coat or condition, towel and blow dry, brush out, nail clipping and ear cleaning. Long haired breeds may also get their pads and feet trimmed, a sanitary and eye trim as well. The Ultimutt Style includes all that is offered with the bath, and a trim or all over haircut in a style that you prefer.
For short haired breeds we usually ask for about 1.5 hours. Long haired breeds without a haircut we ask for 2 hours. Breeds getting haircuts we usually ask for 3 hours. Giant breeds can expect to be here 4 hours. We ask for a little extra time with each appointment to compensate for interruptions that may pop up. We also like to give the pet's a break in between the various stages of grooming. We will always call as soon as they are done or about to be done.
We do not post one because every pet, even within the same breed, can vary so much in size, hair condition & length, behavior, and frequency of grooming and choice of style, that it becomes difficult & unfair to have a set price. We can give you an estimate over the phone based on a typical size and coat condition for a pet of that breed and a more accurate price when we see your pet in person. We hope you understand this pricing strategy as we try to keep our prices as fair as possible.
Factors involved with possible changing prices include heavier matting, heavier undercoat, extremely dirty, advancing in age, gaining or losing weight a change in skin condition, fleas, ticks or if we haven't seen your pet in 12 weeks or more. This causes additional wear and tear on our equipment and additional time required to finishing grooming. Please note that pets that are too hard to handle because of bad behavior or aggression or in a severely neglected coat condition may be turned down for grooming. Prices are based on an hourly charge of hands-on time with your pet and are subject to change.
Yes we do! Our express service entails a 1 on 1 grooming session that is crate free with no interruptions. We work at a pace that your pet can handle. There is an extra charge for this service and that is dependent on the size of the dog, the behavior of the dog and the time it takes to groom. Pricing for this service starts at $20 plus the regular grooming fee. This is not offered for cats.
Yes, we offer medicated baths and moisturizing treatments for pets with skin conditions. We also have products to help with skunk odor and flea treatments. If your pet has a special shampoo that you provide, we will gladly use that as well. We have hypo-allergenic and unscented shampoos as well. Please let us know if your pet has any special needs when booking an appointment.
Every pet regardless of which service you choose is thoroughly checked for fleas & ticks, skin & coat condition, ear, eye, and oral health. Any conditions will be addressed to help him/her feel better. Every pet receives the most caring & calming experience possible. We make every effort to keep your pet happy & safe. We will not force upon your pet any service he/she may not like, we want your pet to love their grooming experiences with us. We only use products & equipment we feel are the best for your pet - ones that will not harm them in any way and that will properly alleviate any conditions they might have. We try to maintain the standard of the best "Ultimutt Grooming Experience" your pet will ever receive! No matter which service you choose, your pet will have a comforting, loving and calm salon experience. They will be clean and happy and they will feel great (and so will you)!
No, we do not allow that. For insurance purposes we are not allowed. We also have a small space and there isn't adequate room to accommodate extra people. Over the years we have found that dogs will not cooperate for us when their owner is with them. They become anxious to be with their owners and therefore wiggle and don't hold still. That becomes a safety issue and will make the grooming process actually take longer as we are often trying to settle them down.
The frequency of grooming depends on the breed and coat type of your pet. We recommend bringing your pet in for grooming every 4-6 weeks to maintain the length you prefer. Short haired breeds can go 8-10 weeks, maybe with a nail trim in between. Remember, these grooming's don't always have to include a haircut, in between touch ups are a great way to maintain a longer coat while keeping the process easier on your pet. During colder months, we recommend The Ultimutt Bath every 3-4 weeks to maintain a healthy, matt-free coat, preventing discomfort caused by matting from snow and longer hair.
